Canterbury Commons Waynesboro helps to promote housing and supportive services to assist disabled, homeless persons in the transition from streets
and shelters to permanent housing and maximum self-sufficiency. Canterbury Commons is currently home to six disabled individuals who were formerly homeless.

With assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, and the Virginia Housing Development Authority’s SPARC Program, the VCSB coordinates the program’s supportive services component. The project opened to residents in June 2005.
